Today's Featured Biography
Catherine Sweeney Hauck
After high school, I went to college at Mount St. Mary’s in Brentwood, CA. In 1968 I married Hal Hauck, who I met at Loyola. In 1972 we moved north from LA to Cupertino in Santa Clara Co, now named “Silicon Valley”. In 2000 we moved in Aptos in Santa Cruz Co. (enjoying living so near the ocean).
Hal and I have two wonderful daughters and 3 grandsons (ages 3, 2, and 9 mo.)
After college, I began my career as an educator. Started in elementary school, then middle school. Later worked at a community college. From there I became a school principal (at three different schools). When we moved to Santa Cruz, I took a job at the Monterey County Office of Education as a Director for BTSA program. Lastly, in my long list of changing jobs, I became a faculty with the CalStateTEACH program for training new teachers. In June of this year, I finally retired.
Hal and I are looking forward to spending more time with our family and enjoying travel……
I remember Bishop Amat well – I appreciate the good education I had, although Latin classes were not my favorite! How did I ever end up being the “leader” of the Latin Club??????
I guess my claim to fame at Amat is that I “won” the naming of the Amat year book. In English class I looked through my English book, I saw the nickname of Robert Louis Stevenson given to him in a South Pacific island. They named him Tusitala, meaning “teller of tales”.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
