Daniel Melhorn

Well I am surprise I have lived this long. I have a birthday in February and will pass the age of 66. WOW, to sum up my life I am so happy I married right. My wife is my salvation to making it with the stuff of live. Having a true partner that is true even when I am not is a blessing only that God could give.

I met my now wife at Grossmont College in Astronomy class. And did the "hang around close" for 5 years till she would take me home. That was March 1, 1975 when we formed this great association. We lived in Lemon Grove and then move to a our first home in Alpine area. Had two sons the normal way and them we imported two from Korea, two daughters. Names you ask? Ian Franklin and Kevin Joseph our sons and Han Jin He (Jinny for nickname) and Han Sun Ok (sunny for a nickname) out daughters. Their legal names are Ashley Jin He Melhorn and Amber Sun Ok Melhorn.

Well at this point in life we had out grown our home in Alpine area. And we had enough of California life and move to Southwest Washington to a home in Battle Ground, WA. We sold out California home for $40,000 and purchase this home for $80,000. But what a home 2400 sq feet, 4 beadroom 2 ½ bath and it sets 1/4 mile from the East fork of the Lewis River in a valley of just 4 homes on 5 acres. My wife and I did the home school education for the kids thru their beginning of high school years. At which point they went to a high school that was a magnet school for home schoolers.

So we have married off three of our kids. We have three grand children Johnathan his sister Angelica and Chase son of Kevin. What can a Grand Dad say? I could say lot, but not without pictures. And one kid is the black sheep chasing parked cars and wanting to blame live on “THEY”. This week it is us. My standard line for my kids is “Life is not fair, so buck up”.

Now we are with out kids in this big house in the country. I love the Northwest with its mountains and weather.
