Today's Featured Biography
David Hagen
Upon graduating from Saint Francis High School, I attended Glendale Community College for two years prior to transferring to the University of Southern California to pursue a bachelor degree in history and eventually a master degree and doctorate degree in education. While working on my master degree I returned to Saint Francis to teach history and coach football and track. After two years, I left to start my public school career as a history teacher at Fountain Valley High School in the Huntington Beach School District. I was promoted to Activities Director, Assistant Principal, and at the age of thirty five became Fountain Valley's youngest Principal. I departed the school in 1986 to become the Administrative Associate of Human Resources at the district office, two years later Assistant Superintendent Business Services and in 1990 I was appointed by the Board of Trustees, Superintendent, a position I held until my retirement.
I married my high school prom date and this June Ronee and I will celebrate our forty-fifth wedding anniversary. We have two sons. David is a graduate of Santa Clara University and currently resides in Darien Connecticut working in New York for William Blair and Company. Matthew also is a graduate of Santa Clara University, resides in Danville California and works for Ken Fisher Investments headquartered in San Mateo. Both sons are married and each has two sons and a daughter. I openly admit that two great sons and six grand children are my most rewarding accomplishments.
At the time of my retirement Ronee's career began to blossom. We departed California for Pennsylvania and Chicago where Ronee was appointed the first female Business Unit President for Alcoa. She was later recruited away to become CEO of an international paper company in Boston and later recruited to become CEO of an international manufacturing company headquartered in Charlotte, NC where we currently reside at Lake Norman. When Ronee retires, we plan to split time between our Laguna Niguel home in California and our Lake Norman home in North Carolina. Ronee's international experiences have afforded us the opportunity to travel extensively in the United States as well as to Europe, Asia, South Africa, and South America enjoying the diversity in culture, climate and topography. In retirement we plan to revisit many of the places we have experienced as well as expanding our global horizons.
Needless to say I consider myself lucky to have found the love of my life, pursued a fulfilling career and been blessed with a loving family.
Look forward to seeing classmates at our fiftieth reunion and sharing stories of our days at SFHS!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
