Julie (Cleo) Gracey Golden
2020 - social distancing in my new home - Florence OR. Looking forward to a time when we can travel again, enjoy farmers markets, live music-not streamed, and face-to-face conversations.
2012 - Ah, missed another reunion, but looking forward to our 50th.
I see that my last post (below) was probably written in 2008, so it's time for a bit of update. I'm still happily married to Judd Golden and living in Boulder.
My biggest accomplishment was marked on 2/29/12 with the publication of my first novel, Vagilantes. (More info at Vagilantes.com). It tickles to move from writer to author – especially powerful to address the issue of child sexual abuse with a page-turing story.
I spent my 60th birthday at HoopCamp with 350 other talented hula-hoopers. I fire-hooped on the eve of my big day, and blew out the last wick, with a wish, while a happy birthday song echoed into the night. This image is my Facebook photo - I'll change it when I have another more thrilling experience.

We viewed, a few minutes ago, Obama’s speech in Berlin. This is the leadership we wanted during the Summer of Love, but it was a long time coming. Enough about politics, now about ME.
A piece of my glass art, High Tide of Democracy, hangs at Obama Boulder headquarters, and will be at the Democratic Convention in Denver. This week, I closed a highly-successful 2 1/2 month glass show at the Boulder Library. In the discussion stage is a project for stained glass windows in the new home of the etown radio program. The building is a deconsecrated Nazarene church. I was raised Nazarene and it left some deep scars. It will be a powerful experience to make my personal mark on an associated site.
I am a bibiloholic, and occasional writer. This is how I came to make stained glass windows for the Sylvia Beach Hotel in Newport, OR. The SBH rooms are all dedicated to different authors. Cool place if you like that sort of thing. I do.
Judd, my sweetheart and husband of 32 years, is still the ACLU Boulder County chairman and a trial lawyer. He loves live music, (jamband/jazz/rock) and golf which leads us to interesting and beautiful places.
Since I saw some of you at the 40th reunion, Judd and I have continued to enjoy our 1987 VW van - with a couple of new engines since then. We just finished a month-long trip that included a drive through Fortuna. Sorry the timing was off to stop for the reunion.
Last year we sold our house and expansive garden. We purchased a Flatirons-view condo, stripped it and remodeled. I am now involved in remodeling the common spaces of our 7-floor, 65 unit building. We love the lock ‘n leave lifestyle when we want to hit the road-such as to see you for 50th.
