Today's Featured Biography
Julia Shelton Bordona
I completed business school after graduation then met my husband, a Turlock dairy farmer whom I married in 1969. I moved to Turlock for the next 30 years, began a family, and helped grow our family dairy business until 1998.
In 1998 I entered college where I completed a degree in Interior Design, worked for a local Modesto firm, then opened my own interior design business.
I re-married my current husband, Steve Bordona, a local Riverbank-ite, in 2004 and we have a step-family of four children and three grandchildren. We live in Modesto, CA, and just celebrated the birth of our third grandchild.
Some of our favorite things are travel, history, reading, visiting museums, genealogy, music and concerts, and plain old family get-togethers, sharing pot luck dishes and playing silly board games.
I belong to Daughters of the American Revolution, where I serve as an officer, as well as National Society of Colonial Dames of the 17th Century.
On our travels we have visited Switzerland, Italy, France, England and Scotland, as well as Spain, where we visited Steve's family. Our most recent trip was to Washington, DC, and Gettysburg and Antietam battlefields to take in the 150th commemoration of the Civil War.
Of all the things we do and in which we are involved, we find the most reward in serving in a local Modesto church as lay ministers to young married couples. We lead home Bible studies as well as serve as a mentor couple to pre-marriage/re-marriage couples.
As this will be my FIRST class reunion I have attended, I sure hope they put everyone's picture of our name badges! I look forward to seeing you all in August!
