Today's Featured Biography
Jean Wright Luhnow
9/19/19 We have moved to Alpine, CA to be closer to family and appointments...We have been married 49 years. Enjoying GREAT grandchildren...I was a 3 year high school grad and didn't get to enjoy the senior year. However, I do like to keep in touch with those I shared my childhood. Hope to see you at the 60th reunion this week-end.
Feb. 2008 I am a retired school teacher. My husband of 39 years, Wilbur Luhnow, Grossmont class of 1948 and I live in the San Diego area in the mountain community of Julian. I was married to Tom Neal class of 58 for 11 years and we have 3 sons and 7 grandchildren. (One in grad school and 2 in college)
I keep busy working part-time as a substitute at Julian High School and my husband and I are active in our church.
We love to travel and have recently returned from Italy and Greece. We toured with son, Thomas(Scott)Neal and his son, Thomas (Nathan) Neal, my oldest grandchild who just received his teaching credential from San Diego State. I also graduated from San Diego State and have a Master's degree from Azuza University.
I did not graduate with this class as I was a 3 year high school graduate. After my three sons were in school, I started college late long after most of you.
BUT: I'm beating all of you to this site! Hope to see you at "OUR" 50th.
June09 I am now fully retired. I did my student teaching at Grossmont High School. THAT was fun! But can you believe it a student stole my wallet out of my purse? My lack of experience of course, I was learning to be a teacher....I taught in secondary school and in the summers at San Diego Christian College.
For a few years I ran the "Pink Country Rose Bed and Basket in Julian. We enjoy travel and even got to China a few years ago. We have always "camped", having a tent, camper, 5th wheel or motor-home at one time or another.
My husband and I appreciate the peace and quiet of our mountain community of Julian. I still enjoy music and sing in our church choir. I still like "studying" and I'm into "using computers" and researching topics of the moment. Those young faces in my 58 annual are very meaningful friends to me. Looking forward to seeing your "older" ones now in 2009. WOW 50 years have gone by for us in which many of us have experienced challenges of one type or another. We can now celebrate our experiences and enjoy the fruits of our labor. "Character can not be developed in ease and quiet.Only through trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired and success achieved" Helen Keller

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
