Today's Featured Biography
Susan Soderstrom Abold
Married to Dennis Abold right after graduation. Daughter Janet born in December. Moved to Virginia in '67, to Phoenix in '68. Divorced in '70. Was working at Motorola and going to school at Mesa CC then ASU, but got a job in Process Engineering for something brand new - microprocessors - in Poughkeepsie NY in '74. Hired back to Motorola, but in Austin TX in '79. Finally finished degree at St. Edward's University and then changed careers and went to Austin Presbyterian Seminary to become a United Methodist minister. (bet few know that pastors frequently attend seminaries of other denominations.) Graduated with Master's of Divinity in '97 and was ordained. Have served several churches since then and did a 2 year post-masters residency in pastoral care at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. (Go Spurs!) Served in Victoria Texas as pastor to 2 churches, and now officially retiring in June, but I work part-time as a chaplain here in Austin, which I will continue to do.
I have four grandchildren; James is 25 and a Phiosophy grad from Texas State U. in San Marcos, and is a web programmer, Michael, who works for the University of Texas and Lowes managing cashiers, Stephanie who is a Jr in Highh School, and Katherine, who is in 4th grade.
Michael and his girlfriend have a baby girl, Kimmie - which makes me a Great!
