Today's Featured Biography
Joshua Neddo
Born Fairbanks, Alaska. Moved around a lot--even foreign countries. Raised in both the country and cities. Started high school in Missouri and finished in Arizona (Washington High, Phoenix). Signed up for the military at 17; got in some trouble and ended up leaving for boot camp (FEB 14th) barely before I turned 19. I married before I left for boot camp (Brandi Overturf) in Scottsdale, AZ. I went to school in Illinois for the Navy, and then to San Diego, CA for even more. I got my first orders to the USS Ardent, a minesweeper (a type of ship) out of Manama, Bahrain. My first daughter (Savannah) was born here, then Brandi had her gall bladder removed, and then they were both evacuated. Soon thereafter, we began rotational crews (MCM Crew Juliet) to the Middle East, and we were rotated to Ingleside, Texas. I was stationed with MCM Crew Exultant embarked on the USS Pioneer; my rating/career field changed here. Soon after that, Katherine was born in Corpus Christi, Texas. I broke my hand, lost my orders, and got sent LIMDU to Corpus Christi. I got divorced soon after that and have sole custody of both of my daughters. I healed up and got orders to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on the USS O'Kane (a destroyer--another type of ship); I got another school in San Diego on the way to HI. Not long ago, I got a school in San Deigo again to further my career in the Navy, which I have served in for almost 8 years. My daughters are being watched by my parents until I have orders that are on shore stateside and not on a ship or foreign country.
