As of today, Sunday, August 12, Jan and I have been married for 40 years.

I married Janice L. Gabbard of Fayetteville, AR, on August 12, 1972.  After graduating from the UofA in 1975, I was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the Army. I retired in 2000 while living in Fredericksburg, VA, and working at the Pentagon.  I then went to work for The Boeing Company as a program manager for software design and development.  In 2004, I left Boeing and went back to work for the Army Staff in the Pentagon as a contractor.  Later in the year, I left and went to work for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), also in the Pentagon.  In September, 2009, DIA moved me to Charlottesville, VA, and I now live in Barboursville.

Jan and I have three children -- Jennifer (1975), Jill (1977), and Dan (1979).  We have eight grandchildren -- Hunter (Dan's, 2001), Jack (Jill's in 2006), Sarah (Jennifer's in 2006), Hannah (Jill's in 2008), Julia (Jennifer's in 2008), Lucy (Jill's in 2010), Sam (Jennifer's in 2011), and Annabella (Dan's last Sunday -- July 22, 2012)

While in the Army, in this order, we lived at Fort Campbell, KY; Fort Huachuca, AZ; Idar-Oberstein, Germany; Virginia Beach, VA; Fort Hood, TX; Fort Leavenworth, KS (a couple times); Fort Clayton, Panama; Fredericksburg, VA; and now in Barboursville, VA.

Other places I've been include Italy, Spain, England, Holland, Belgium, France, Hungary, Haiti, El Salvador, Korea, Japan, and Kuwait.  NOTHING is like the good old USA.

A few months ago, as a gunsmith and NRA-certified firearms instructor, I opened a home-occupancy business -- Barboursville Arms, LLC -- and got a federal firearms license.  I buy, sell, and  transfer firearms, do gunsmithing, and, along with my son, Dan, conduct firearms training courses.  NRA - National Rifle Association.
