Today's Featured Biography
Heather Endicott Summers
Many may not remember me. I was not a "stand-out" in high school but did very well academically and played softball for one year. After graduation, I went to University of Montevallo for two years then quit college as my grades and personal life were not doing well. I moved to Colorado Springs and got married to my high school boyfriend, William (did not attend Butler) and pregnant with my first child, Jordan. He was born on Valentine's day and was the absolute best Valentine a woman could receive...
I left my husband when our son was 3 1/2 weeks old to go back home to south Florida to live with mom (1992). I raised my son, went back to college and graduated with a BA in Psychology (emphasis in biopsychology) from Florida Atlantic University (1995), divorced my husband somewhere in there and met my second husband, Scott. I got married to Scott in 1996 and he adopted my son shortly afterward. We divorced in 2001.
I have had two more children - Jocelyn and Heather- from my first ex-husband since my divorce from my second husband . I know... for someone so low key, my life is surely a soap opera... you may have to read a few times to get it!
I landed my first job out of college as a case manager working with the elderly in 1995 (Florida has A LOT of them), advanced to supervisor and then changed jobs. I worked for Allstate as an adjustor for nearly two years, then went back to working as a Program Director with the elderly in 2000. I have been doing that ever since. I am vying for a position as an Assistant Executive Director at the moment, and my career goal within the next 5-8 years is to be and Executive Director/CEO of a social services agency.
I am a single parent now and plan on staying that way for while. I love my kids more than anything and put all of my energy into them. So, I really do not get to do what I like to do all of the time.
My son is 16 and franlky does not "play" with mom any longer (wonder why?). He is a bright kid in advanced classes and is a avid skateboarder and quite athletic. He is also very socialable and popular. He cannot seem to find what he really likes yet, though he has tried quite a bit (baseball, roller hockey, soccer, karate, and wrestling). He spends most of his time with his gilfriend (Bianca) and a few of his closest friends. Just like most teens, I see him coming and going and get a few grunted "Hi, Mom's... Can I's,... You're not being fair's...", etc.
I do a lot more with the girls. I mostly play games, read books, go to the park, kid stuff. We are quite close. Jocelyn is not shy in any way. I have to watch her like a hawk. She is very smart and is reading at a 3rd grade level half way through Kindergarten. I can see Jocelyn as a comedic actress and am actually trying to get her into acting camp over the summer. Heather is more reserved and shy but quite the devious one. I am holding out on my analysis of her... LOL!
I am finishing my licensing process to become a foster parent. I should receive my first foster-daughter into my home in a couple of months. This is my way of giving back to my community and help give a loving and stable home to some children.
I really love to draw and paint... some may remember I like to do that. I am also writing some children's books (of course illustrating them as well). I love movies and television. I love psychological thrillers, drama, sci-fi, action and scary movies. I watch a lot of Sci Fi Channel (Battlestar Gallactica, Stargate (both), Eureka, Doctor Who, etc.). I also watch all CSI's, all Law & Orders, Smallville, Bones, Dexter, and many other similar shows. I love the new shows Pushing Daisies, Life and Journeyman. I do not watch sitcoms or reality tv (except 'So You Think You Can Dance'). I am not sure I know what I'd do without DVR! I love being a home body and love my down time. I make jewelry, do arts & crafts and have many more things I would love to do but will wait until the girls are older to do them.
That is all there is to me!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
