Today's Featured Biography
Greg Davitt
After Ramstein and Kaiserslautern, I ended up at Chanute A.F.B. in Illinois. I graduated from the local high school in 1967, and my dad retired that summer. We moved to Tempe, Arizona, where I started at Arizona State, first as a physics major and then psychology.
I got my B.S. in psychology and then went to graduate school at the University of Colorado in experimental psychology/ animal learning (pigeons and rats). Five years later, while well honed on the campus frisbee golf course, I had advanced degrees but no prospect of a job.
Now married I returned to Tempe, where I spent another year and a half at ASU to become a certified teacher. I started at third grade in Mesa Public Schools, slowly moved through fourth to fifth and stayed there for 27 very enjoyable years.
When my (wonderful) son was in high school, the marriage ended. My house became a two-guy bachelor pad.
Nine years ago Trish and I got together. Like the lyric in some song I can't name, "She likes me for me". She's the fullfillment of my adolescent dream of falling in love with an artist.
June of 20ll I retired from teaching. Since then I've enjoyed the absence of deadlines and priorities. It's like every day is my birthday!
