Scott Lowe
Man, talk about old... it's been too long! Not only have I graduated from Kingsway, but I've also graduated 3 classes from there as a teacher! Woah... ok let's back track a little.
I gradiated from KA and went on to college at the University of Florida (go gators). That didn't last (was too big) and so I transferred to Palm Beach Atlantic University down in West Palm Beach. I managed to make it through there with a degree in Computer Information Systems and was hell bent on going back to Nassau to live.
I got home and the party started - I was working at Nassau Scuba Center all day and then going out and drinking myself silly all night. Thankfully, business got too slow and I was forced to start looking for other work. It was right around this time that I met the love of my life as well. She was literally a gift from heaven and I knew that it was time to finally "grow up" a little.
In my job searching, I decided to just find out more information about becoming a teacher (although I didn't intend to actually do it). I contacted ole' Georgie (Baxter) who is now the principal of KA about it and he called me in for a meeting right away. Apparently KA had NO computer teacher and they desperately needed someone. So, two weeks later with no teaching experience, no text books, no syllabus, no real computers, and no clue... I was standing in front of a classroom full of students at KA.
Thankfully, I managed to make it through and I enjoyed 2 1/2 years there (yes ENJOYED). I have since moved to back to Florida with my now fiance to pursue my Masters in Education Administration (I'm going to be a principal... scary I know). I have a great job teaching at a small private high school in Wellington, Florida and I am loving every minute of life. Thank God for all of the blessings that he gives us... even when we don't deserve them.
