Today's Featured Biography
MICHELE PEACH
After graduating OU I left Oklahoma as fast as possible swearing never to return. Now of course, I remember how great a place it was for families and kids and partially wish I lived closer to where I grew up.
Working on my MBA in Florida, I joined BAH where I met my husband a few years later. While he left to become a VOIP guru and one of Cisco leading design experts I continued with BAH consulting all over the world for the US Government. I was on a fast career track for partner when I had to make a decision and chose to settle down and raise a family. It was the best decision of my life. We had two kids fairly close together. Emma just turned 5 and is the academic and Harmon is 3 and unless it has something to do with swordplay and superheroes, he just ain't interested. Anyway, I have been blessed to continue doing the exciting and challenging consulting I love (I was on the design team that did the largest organization restructure in history of over 100,000 employees) while being able to go home each night and raise my family.
A couple of years ago, my husband and I were on a cruise and he asked how the umpteenth book I had completed reading was. It was good, but I lipped off and said that I could write one in my sleep. He dared me and I accepted. Well, I can't write them in my sleep, but I was really surprised how much I really enjoyed writing the novel. I write single title (100,000+ words) historicals and science fiction novels for Kensington Books. I am completing my fourth novel and have started writing the fifth. It only took me 37 years, but I guess I have finally figured out what I want to be when I grow up. If only it paid decently.....
I am an editor for a journal, enjoying going out on our boat in the summers, and hope to someday actually build a house on the lake front property we own.
I doubt I will be able to attend the reunion as I have a month long trip planned for Scotland in July - may be next time.
