Today's Featured Biography
Donald Norton
A short time after high school graduation I met and married Lexie Charvat, a majorette from Streetsboro on February 14th, 1968. Four weeks later I received my draft notice and spent most of the next two years in Korea as an Artillery Gunnery Sergeant. After I was discharged in 1970, I attended Akron University part-time through 1976, while working at BF Goodrich and starting my family. In 1972 we had our first child, Christopher, followed in 1976 by our daughter Amy.
By the late 1970's, I changed careers and went into the insurance industry, followed by real estate and then yellow pages, eventually resulting in owning my own company by the early 1980's.
In 1988 I changed industries again and spent 18 years in the senior housing industry as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for National Retirement Company in Boca Raton, Florida, American Retirement Corporation in Brentwood, Tennessee and Marriott Senior Living Services in Washington, D.C. My son graduated from Stow High School in 1989 and we moved to Jupiter, Florida and resided in Florida until 2005 when we moved back to Ohio.
From 2006 until 2009 I was the General Manager of Century Harley Davidson in Medina, Ohio and in October 2009, I accepted my current position as Vice President of Sales for GCA Services Group in Cleveland, Ohio.
My wife Lexie and I celebrated our 42nd wedding annivarsary last February 14th and we have two beautiful grand-daughters, Kayla, aged 9 and Kate, aged 6.
My hobbies include fishing, hunting and all sports. During the time we lived in Florida, I fished professionally in B.A.S.S. sanctioned tournaments, managed a fishing tackle store, became a custom rod builder, ran a bass fishing guide service, taught evening bass fishing classes at the local college and wrote the weekly outdoor fishing column for the Highlands Edition of the Tampa newspaper.
Last year while bowhunting in Medina, I shot my largest deer to date, an 11-point buck.
Currently, I hunt and fish all year in Ohio and Florida with my brothers Bill and Bob.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
