Robert Beavers

I wish I had been a little less shy in high school and had made more friends. It’s never too late they say. I have wondered what happened to each of you and just read all the bio’s. I hope the rest of you take this opportunity to update us a little about your lives. It saddens me that I was not a part of the lives of those that have passed on and hope I can get to know as many as possible in our remaining years here. I was afraid to make friends in high school for fear that I was too different because of my strict religious beliefs, Mormon. We are not allowed coffee, tea, tobacco, alcohol. premarital sex, and are not allowed to date until 16. I didn’t dated in high school though I had a crush or two. I remember fantasizing, during 12th grade math class, about the girl I would fall in love with, who, where, and what she was doing now. I’m such a romantic. I’m the one that cries during the chic flicks while my wife and kids laugh at me. I spent a year at Utah State trying to decide what to do with my life, and looking for love. I came home and found my best friend and latter wife, at church in 1975. I’m from Egypt, Colleen is from Greece. We married in 1977, had 5 kids from 1979 to 1989 and now 4 grand children from new born to 5. See “ckcclan.blogspot.com”. We had four boys, and one girl, in the middle. An engineer, an artist, the girl a marine who met another marine in Iraq, got married and had a boy a few weeks ago. Our 4th child is on a mission for our church and the 5th is getting ready to go. We just moved to Waterloo after living in Henrietta for 30 years, raising our family, and working as an electrician for Kodak. I used to love drag racing, motorcycles, and boating, now I enjoy stargazing and visiting our kids. In 2005 I built a new ice cream truck “Monster Ice Cream” that makes some of the best custard and ice cream you’ve ever had. It doesn’t turn a profit yet but I love taking it to places like the sunshine camp and donating ice cream to a good cause. I’ll use it more when I retire.
