After graduation, I tried college; I almost joined the Navy, but worked as a landscaper instead. In 1979 I started working at Waimea Fall Park; I stayed there for nine years. Eventually becoming the Assistant Hawaiian Park Historian under the noted Hawaiian Historian Rudy Mitchell. While working at Waimea Fall, I became a expert in the history, and culture of the Hawaiian people. From ancient forms of house building, temple reconstruction to the archeological surveying of the different historical site in Waimea valley. The study of the 21 healing arts practiced by the ancient Hawaiians became of special interest to me. From the healing art of Laau Lapa'au, healing by the use of plants, to Ana'ana, the giving or taking of life through spiritual means. In 1988 I moved to the island of Kauai to work at the Weston Resort on Kalapaki Bay, eventually becoming the assistant Grounds Superintendent. Later I became the Grounds Superintendent for Kauai Lagoons Resort. In 1992 Hurricane Iniki struck the Hawaiian Islands, causing severe damage to the island of Kauai. At this time, I left the tourist industry to volunteer to manage a Food Bank Distribution Center in Hanalei. After doing that for eight months and exhausting my saving, I decided to return to work. I worked construction for a few months, then applied to work as a prison guard at Kauai Community Correctional Center. During the last nineteen years in corrections, I eventually worked my way to the rank of Lieutenant back in 2002. I am presently a Watch Commander, and senior Lieutenant at the correctional center. I have been to Japan, Korea, California, Utah, Idaho and Nevada. I hope to retire in six more years and see more of our beautiful country and the world. I am in the process of finishing a novel I am writing on the Kamehameha Wars (ten year project), and the hardship of war on the common people. Life is a wonderful journey. I have met interesting people along the way. I started out as a kid from Waimanalo, struggling his way through life, and am now a Hawaiian Man blessed by his past.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
