Lisa and Manuel became the proud parents of Isabel Claudia, who was born on March 20, 2008 at NYU Medical Hospital in New York City. The 26-hour birth: what a reward. We are so blessed and grateful.

After graduation, Lisa immediately moved with her family to Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She attended the Universite de Catholique de l’Ouest in Angers, France and graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and a minor in French.
Lisa was a writer and producer in radio and television before moving to New York City where she has worked as a marketing consultant and graphic designer for the last 14 years.
Horses, salsa dancing and photography are among Lisa’s interests. Her initial exposure to jazz and Latin jazz came from her love for salsa, which in turn fueled her desire to document the city’s current jazz scene. In 2001, in an effort to migrate her graphic design business and love for jazz and Latin jazz, she founded the St Cyr Collective, an agency specializing in music marketing & graphic design, photography, and artist representation.
The Collective currently sponsors a seasonal concert series called Jazz at the L&M Loft in an informal setting promoting emerging and established composers. The broader scope of the Collective is to create alliances with learning institutions, non-profit programs, music manufacturers and civic organizations bringing live performances, music education and workshops into the urban inner city.
A community activist, Lisa was on the Board of Directors of La Plaza Cultural & 9th Street B/C Block Association, a Big Brothers / Big Sisters of New York Mentor, a volunteer for New York Cares, a member of the Lower East Side Collective and a WBGO Supporter.
In August 2005, when most women her age begin to have grandchildren, Lisa married for the first time Havana native Manuel Valera who is a jazz pianist and composer. They live in Harlem with their baby girl Isabel, Springer Spaniel ZoeMae and frequently visit Gigi and Meggy her Arabians stabled in New Jersey.
