After graduation I headed straight for the University of Georgia (can't spell Sugar without UGA!) where I received my Bachelor's degree in Agronomy..yeah, whatever. I lived in Athens until 1984 when I married my wonderful husband of 24 years, Ernie.
We live in 1966, I mean Tiger, Georgia, where I teach second grade at a little elementary school one mile from my house. I have both my Master's degree and Specialist degree in Early Childhood Education and Administration. I am a National Board Certified Teacher and one of only 200 Master Teachers in the state of Georgia. I can't imagine living anywhere else or doing anything else...although I am quite aware that I can retire in eight years. Eight sweet, sweet years.
I have not been back to Ft. Myers since our 20th reunion. It is hard to leave the mountains of Northeast Georgia. No doubt many of you have traveled through Rabun County on your way to Franklin or Highlands, NC.
One of the best things about living in such a rural area is that I have been able to embellish on my high school years. It may be a surprise to you that I was homecoming queen and prom queen. I finished out my senior year by being both valedictorian and salutatorian. Of course I have to endure the cruel whispers that I have really let myself go, but that is the price one must pay for maintaining the fantasy....
The love of my life is my brother John's (FMS '73) son, Jack. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is living in Bainbridge Island, Washington.
Mr. Segraves lives about 6 miles from me and I see him occasionally in town. Mrs. Shafer has a summer home here and I see her on occasion, as well.
GO DAWGS, Go Greenies, and I look forward to seeing all of you in June.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
