Today's Featured Biography
Johnny (John) Johnson
After graduating from EHS, I attended Southern State college (now SAU) with a brief time at the University of Arkansas before graduating at SSC with a BBA in January of 1963.
I married my college sweetheart, the beautiful and talented Brenda Young of Magnolia. Brenda was an English teach and was actually teaching at EHS at the time we married. While in Dallas she received an advanced degree at Texas Women's University in Denton Texas and taught English as a Foreign Language. We had a boy (Kevin) and a girl(Karen). Both are graduate of the University of Arkansas and are quite successful in their careers. I have six grandchildren. Brenda and I were married for forty years before her death in 2004.
My career was in the life insurance business. First Pyramid Life in Little Rock gave me my start and initial training. From there I became Vice President of Underwriting at Union Life Insurance Company, Vice President of New Business at Life Insurance Company of the Southwest, Director of Regional Reinsurance Underwriting for Transamerica Reinsurance. and Senior vice President of Selected Life Insurance Company. I am now retired but continue to do a small amount of consulting work.
I have lived in Little Rock, Dallas (or more accurately Highland Village) Texas, and am spending my retirement with my dog "Trouble" on Lake Catherine in Hot Springs. I don't know where my time goes. I enjoy Pen & Ink drawing, travel, being a Razorback fan, and a whole host of other activities that might best be classified as just Piddlin'.
