October 2022 Class Get-Together

Today's Featured Biography
Bart VanVeen
A year after graduation, I married a girl from East High (If you can't beat them, join them?). This year, then, is our 54th anniversary. My career can be divided, roughly, in 10 year increments, (all in Green Bay).
1st 10: From grocery clerk to Ft. Howard as machinist trainee, and Machine Service
2nd 10: Paper Converting Machine Company, ending my career there as Latin America Sales Manager
3rd 10: Owner/operator Fox Converting, Inc, a converter of paper bags,wraps and printing
4th 10: (Actually more like 15)Lay ministry leader in local church, and owning/operating Sunrise River Boats; building canoes, kyaks, row-and, sail boats.
Our two wonderful children have given us 7 grandchildren, in whose lives we are closely involved. The oldest, now 31 has given us two great grandsons, now 1 and 3 years old.
Our son is a fellow, and tenured professor at UW, teaching digital signal processing, is married and has 3 children.
Our daughter is an RN, happily married with 4 children and lives in De Pere. We are counting on her to take care of us in our old age!
We are now retired and spend our Winters in our home in Arizona, but the magnet to return to Wisconsin lies in our family.
For 15 years now we made our way around the country in a motor home and then home was where we parked it. Just last year we sold it. We feel particularly blessed by God with good health, many friends, a great family as well as church family. Judy and I both have had our health challenges, but are doing well and around AZ we are known as "active adults". So may it ever be!
