Today's Featured Biography
Richard Gottlieb
6/62 - Arrived in Denver, Colorado to begin my life:
(Prior to induction into the US Army, while in Colorado, I "somehow" began a petition drive to put Daylight Saving Time on the ballot for a vote. Because I was being drafted into the U.S. Army, the legislature and I worked out a deal where we'd automatically go on DST for a two year trial and vote on a permanent basis after two years [giving me time to return from the Army and run the campaign.] This is what would eventually lead to my involvement in politics)
7/62 - 12/63: Denver, CO: Fur & Taxidermy supply sales: Jonas Bros. Furs & Taxidermy
1/64 - 1/66: Ft Bragg, NC & Ft Benning, GA: US Army (Airborne) Personnel Specialist
2/66 - 6/67: Denver, CO: Continental Nat'l Amer. Gp., Insurance underwriter (A&H)

6/68 - 10/68: Phoenix, AZ: Administrative Aide for Barry Goldwater’s Primary election campaign (to regain the US Senate seat he surrendered in his 1964 presidential bid)
(at this point in time I began two separate careers until 1970 when I became secure enough to focus on my choice: Politics.)
11/68 - 5/70: Denver, CO: Asst. Credit Manager - May Co. Dept. Stores
11/68 -12/78: Denver, CO/L.A.,CA/ etc.: Partner in political and product advertising agencies: Gottlieb-Dugan and Assoc. (which strictly handled Republican campaigns and issues (if you recall I'm a die-hard Republican)) and Creative Image Services (which handled product, issue and Democrat campaigns - if the Democrats were conservative and "our kind")(During this time, too, I was a deputy Director of Employment Services, state of Colorado, a lobbiest for Colorado Homebuilders Assn. and a conservative group called Common Sense (not all at the same time).
1/79 - 7/79: Denver, CO: Returned to and graduated from Columbia College (extension from Missouri) A.A. and BA: History/Govt
8/79 - 3/81: Mt. Angel, OR: (You're gonna love this): Entered Benedictine monastery to study for priesthood (a hopeless search for reality and the meaning of life…..)

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
