Yvonne Flattum Carlson

Hello
Life since graduation has been good with little regrets. I married high school sweatheart, Michael Paul, from Flambeau School District. We were married about 10 years. Have 3 wonderful sons, 2 step children, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. When Mike and I divorced in the late 70's I moved to the Twin Cities, went back to school and got my degree and retired from Thermo King Corporation after 25 years as a Customer Service Rep. My job at Thermo King was rewarding and interesting working with dealerships all over the U.S. and Canada.

I remarried in 1989. I met my husband dancing. He graduated from Turtle Lake. I will never forget our high school dances nor the noon hour dancing our lunch times in the gym dancing to the 60's music with our jutebox. Those were wonderful years and I still love dancing to this day. Dancing has always been a huge part of my social life. All kinds. My favorite is Country and Old Time although I have done many others over the years. Bill and I belonged to a dance competing group called the North Forty Kikkers. We traveled and competed as team dancers when Country dancing was at it's peak.

Bill and I purchased property in Holcombe 10 years before retiring and spent many weekends commuting back and forth from the Twin Cities to enjoy this beautiful area with family and friends. We came back to nest for retirement. I have never forgot any of my classmates and have many memories of the good old days so unlike what my kids grew up.

Bill passed away April 09 of cancer only a couple years after retirement. We had 22 great years together and he is truely missed. I continue to spend my retirement in Holcombe. I hope to become a snowbird and go south in the winter. How about you?

I had the opportunity to do some traveling over the years and would like to do a lot more now that I am retired.

Some of us are on a mission to build a community of Holcombe Alumnis and hope that you will join in our mission to get everyone interested on board. Contact your friends, neighbors, relatives from Holcombe School. This endeavor will help unite us, provide better planning and offer tools to plan reunions and alumnis. Best of all it can give us a place to stay connected. With everyones support we can do this.
