Today's Featured Biography
Donna Evalt Martens
My honey and I have been married over 18 years and this year we sent Jacob off to college where he's majoring in arts and music and minoring in Christian studies. Monica's a Junior in highschool and Rebekah's a Sophomore in h.s. With my h.s. years as vivid as they are, it's easy to relate with my girls. I love being a wife and mom.
I did work outside the home for a few years after we moved to GA 9 years ago, but being home when my children came home from school, was most important to this family, and we are very thankful that we are in a position where I don't have to work. The US Navy brought us here and we're happy to continue life right where we're at! My honey retired from the navy and for fun works on missiles for Lockheed Martin!!
We miss our friends and families, but we love life down south.
I sure don't miss the rain, though! In November I was home and it rained the first 9 days I was there! It even snowed a little, which I have to admit was nice, but I was very happy to see it melt!
I've traded the beautiful scenic mountains and fresh cool streams in for the hot sunshiny days and relaxing boatrides to Cumberland Island where we fish all day or swim in the ocean where the dolphins play. We're minutes North of Jacksonville, FL so whenever we feel like we want some hussle and bussle, we head down to the city and take in the craziness of it all. If y'all get a chance to come to the Southeast, I encourage you to do it. It's the complete opposite of the Pacific NW, in more ways than one!
