Today's Featured Biography
Bryce Loader
Born 8/21/81 to Kent Bryce Loader and Diane Loader at St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. Fifth of six children. Four older sisters including Cristy, Paula, Maggie, Kate, and little sister Mary. Lived in West Valley, UT and attended Orchard Elementary School for pre-school. We moved to Brigham City, UT in 1987, where I attended Central Elementary School for kindergarten. We moved from the Central School district to the Bunderson Elementary School district (905 E 100 N) about one year after moving to Brigham City. I attended Bunderson from 1st grade - 6th grade before graduating from Bunderson and attending Box Elder Junior High School (BEJHS) (grades 7 - 9th). After graduating from BEJHS, I attended Box Elder High School (BEHS) for the remainder of my primary education.
After graduating from BEHS in 2000, I worked at Vulcraft Steel in the wood bay for several months before serving a two-year mission to the South Carolina, Columbia Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I entered the Missionary Training Center (MTC) in Provo, UT on October 4, 2000. I arrived in Columbia, SC on October 14, 2000. I was first assigned to Greenville, SC with Elder Clint Suter. We were together for two transfers before he got transfered out, and I got called to train Jeff Garduno. Elder Garduno and I were together for one transfer before I was called to be a District Leader in Orangeburg, SC. I was originally assigned to be with Elder Christensen, but there was an emergency transfer and he was sent to Seneca, SC and I was assigned to work with Elder Matthew Stanger. Elder Stanger and I worked together in Orangeburg, SC for about six months before I was transfered to Sumter, SC. I spent my first transfer in Sumter with Elder Durrant. Elder Durrant was then transfered out, and I was called to train Elder Ryan Morris. Elder Morris and I were together in Sumter for one transfer before I was called to be a Zone Leader in Greenville, SC with Elder Cody Kluge. I served with Elder Kluge for one transfer before being sent to be Zone Leader in Clemson, SC with Elder Ben Zeeman. Elder Zeeman and I were together for two transfers before I was sent to Charleston, SC to be the Zone Leader there. I served with Elder Marshall Andersen in Charleston for one transfer before he was transfered out, and I was then put with Elder Scott Cunningham. Elder Cunningham and I were together for the remainder of my mission. I extended my mission by one transfer per my mission President's request. My dad came to the mission field to pick me up, and we spent one week touring the mission before we flew back to UT. My parents had divorced while I was on my mission, and I really did not have a place to live. (My mom was living with my sister Maggie and her daughter Maisun, and my dad was living in a one-bedroom apartment in Cheyenne, WY). I lived with my sister and brother-in-law for a couple of months before moving back out to Charleston, SC to live with a counselor in the mission presidency (Jim Poe and his wife Janette). While living there I worked at Nucor Steel on Daniel Island, SC. I worked as a fitter and welder. I worked there for several months and began dating Emily Michalak (one of our converts from my mission) before deciding to move back home and start an EMT course. My initial thought was to apply to the nursing program at Weber State University. Although I planned on applying to nursing school, I knew that I really wanted to get my medical degree and become a doctor.
Emily and I kept in close contact, and it was not long before we got engaged 12/23/2002 (Rocky Dugway in Mantua, UT). We were married on 5/3/2003 by President Steve Baughman in the Summerville, SC ward house. We were sealed for time and all eternity three months later in the Jordan River Temple in South Jordan, UT.
Emily began her masters degree in English at Utah State University in Logan, UT while I began working on my bachelor's degree in Zoology at Weber State University. I finished my premedical courses and graduated from Weber State in May 2008. Emily finished her master's degree in December 2006.
We moved from Harrisville, UT (where we lived for the first five years of our marriage) to Lewisburg, WV in July of 2008. I began medical School at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in July 2008. Emily found a job at Greenbrier Academy for Girls in Pence Springs, WV and began working on her PhD in English/Technical Communication through Texas Tech University.
We left Lewisburg when I decided to transfer to an allopathic medical school (Wright State University) in Dayton, OH. We lived in Dayton, OH from 2010 - 2012 where I graduated with my MD in May 2012. Emily finished her PhD through Texas Tech University and graduated in May of 2012 as well.
We matched into a family medicine residency program in Columbia, SC where I am currently completing my medical residency training. We are thrilled to be here in Columbia (so close to Emily's family) and in a stellar residency program.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
