Today's Featured Biography
Doris Stewart Ingersoll
As the "baby" of the class, I'm still working. My husband, Ron, and I are working as adjunct faculty with Hillsborough Community College online with our courses. Ron teaches Environmental Science and I’m teaching Public Speaking. Yes, online! They have to record their speeches before an audience of their own and show the audience plus their speech. It is interesting and challenging for them and me!
I've placed a picture of my family here so you can see me, Ron, Paige, Kylie, and Krista, who are my two girls, granddaughter, and husband as of Christmas 2014. This was our second Christmas in Dade City in our 3 generation household. It has been a good move for all of us, though more of a challenge than I had originally thought.
We have a small zoo here in our house with two cats, one dog, and one hamster. Krista was raising hamster families, but decided to stop mating them so that she could enjoy the other animals too. Kylie, our granddaughter, is 15 and we are learning much more about music we had never heard before and theatre actors in the musical theatre genre. We also hear her and her mom sing at church so we are pleased to have music and singers in the family. I’d stopped singing a long time ago, but I am wondering if one can recover vocal chords and sing again at 72. We’ll see!
