Today's Featured Biography
Frank Thierer
After graduation from Dieruff, I went to Moravian College in Bethlehem, from which I graduated with a BA in Business Administration in 1971. That summer I began a temporary job in the accounting department at the Lehigh Valley Railroad. The LVRR became part of Conrail in 1976, and Conrail became part of Norfolk Southern in 1999. My temporary job ended up being a 32 year career, in the accounting, finance, and sales and marketing departments of the three railroads. I retired in 2003. Now I get to spend my time doing the things I want to, when I want to - its great. My days are spent going to the gym, and hanging out with my grandchildren (I hate the word, it makes me sound old) Collin, 18, Meghan 15, and Ian 4. My wife, Sandie, and I like to travel when we get the chance, most recently we cruised the southern Caribbean. During the summer I get down to see the Phillies every chance I get, and every year get together with some friends and visit other ballparks throughout the country, in addition to being a partial season ticket holder for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs.
