Today's Featured Biography
Bill Frith
1987-1991: I attended Willamette University along with others from 1987, including John King, Julie Fitzpatrick, Ted Harris, Chris Remy, Shelly Culver and, later, Krisanna Gregory. I ran all four years in cross-country and track, was part of Delta Tau Delta and worked at the campus coffee shop...which was practically the only other thing to do other than drink yourself into oblivion. Oh...that and study.
1989: Met my future wife, Heather James of Jacksonville, OR, through a pen pal relationship.
1990: Took off 6 months and biked through Europe, right after "the wall" came down. It actually was biking with planes, trains and automobiles on the side, hitting 16 countries and plenty of bad weather in a periwinkle biking suit. I never got lost in the snow. Highlights included flat tires (which usually drew strangers to my aid...and maybe a free drink, too), eating pizza with Harlem Globetrotters at midnight in Barcelona, watching the Rolling Stones in the Barcelona Olympic Stadium (w/ Bill Wyman still in the band...and close enough you could spit on Mick), learning to juggle on the night train to Venice, using my juggling skills outside a Zahgreb station for needed train fare, wandering through dingy yet unspoiled Eastern bloc cities (Prague, Berlin, Dubrovnik), being in Munich (w/ John King SHS '87) when the West Germans won the World Cup, and biking for days along the Rhine River where VISA did NOT "go everywhere you want to go". Oh...and London's Tower Records...that was great, too. So was French kissing the Blarney Stone. I collected traditional hats and pipes from many of the visited countries. It was great traveling several months with Heather, who was studying abroad at the time.
1992: Graduated, I broomed city streets until I got a promotion - getting hired at an insurance company answering phones. Ended up being great. Was hired with SHS '85 grad Darren Lewis. I'm still there today as a sales manager of marketing reps. It's just like my summer jobs at the lumber mill and truck freight company, except my coworkers shower a little more often.
1996, 1998, 2005: Added three tax exemptions to my portfolio of life.
2006: Bought my first iPod. Changed my life forever.
Today: Live in Tigard, married 14 years and have three great kids. Haley is 10 going on 15, Thomas is 8 going on 3 and Liam is now 19 months. How does it get better? I still have coffee with friends from SHS and others who came from OSU or are on our 22-23 year Hood to Coast team.
Life is good.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
