Today's Featured Biography
William Goodson
I graduated in May 1966. My brother Craig and I did early enlistment in the Air Force and went active duty in June 1966. I went to Viet Nam in Nov 1967 and came home in Nov 1968. I was stationed at Bien Hoa, was there during the Tet Offensive. After I got out of the air force I went to college at Southwestern Okla State Univ, graduated from there in May 1973. Was a history teacher at Clinton Junior High, Clinton, OK, from 1973 to 1978. Went to Marland, Ok and was principal there from 1978 to 1979. Left there and went to Woodward, OK where I was assistant principal from 1979 to 1989. Went to Custer, OK as principal and was there from 1989 to 1994. Our daughter Shanna, graduated from there in 1994. From there went to Hollis, OK as principal from 1994 to 2000. Found out Shanna was expecting our first grandchild so found a principals job at Colbert, OK, in southeastern OK very close to where she lived and was there from 2000 to May 2012. I retired from Colbert with 40 years in education. I really enjoyed doing my job but with all the changes in education it got to where it was no longer fun anymore so I retired. Linda and I have 2 wonderful grandsons, James who is 12 and Matthew who is 10. Shanna married Sherman Hall from Caddo, OK in Dec of 1996 and they moved to Caddo after graduation from Okmulgee Tech. We love being close to and involved in our grandsons lives. We go to all their activities and are so proud of them as I know everyone is proud of their grandkids. We are really enjoying retirement. We do what we want, when we want, and if we don't want to we don't. We highly recommend retirement.
