Today's Featured Biography
Barbara Mayo Foster
After high school I went to SUNY at Oneonta, transferred to Geneseo and started teaching for the next 38 years- in Harrisburg and Hershey,PA for the next 8 years.Was married to Peter Fallis for 8 years then divorced and got in my car and drove to Atlanta, GA. I finally settled in Marietta, Ga (a suburb of Atlanta) in 1976 and started teaching in the Cobb School district for the next 30 years in Title I schools. In 1980 I met and married Tony Foster after only knowing him for a few weeks. He was severely injured in Vietnam doing 4 tours as an airborne ranger and having accumulated 4 purple hearts and numerous other awards. He never could work and we were finally blessed with our 2 sons that were truly gifts. After retiring in 2007 I worked in the CCSD Title I offices for the next few years reviewing and helping the schools get Title I funds. I finally retired totally in 2009 and had the next 7 years enjoying my husband and sons. I lost my beloved suddenly on November 22,2016. My boys still live with me as they had to help me with their dad. I love to read, crochet and play video games- yes- I have 3 systems of my own and play computer games. I tried facebook and every so often go on -my boys are on it constantly. I have thought of many of you over the past 50+ years. Although I may not see you, you are thought of often with fondness and I have shown my sons pictures of where I lived on Columbia Drive and the school on google and shared my yearbook. I wish all of you happiness, good health and bookoodles of wonderful memories.
