25 Year Reunion Announcement!

Well, it all began at Mahoney's 7/3/08...There was a small group of us there, we had some dinner, some drinks and dancing. One fella in particular certainly knows how to get his groove on, unfortunately due to an "injury", he was unable to get his groove back on for the rest of the weekend! Some people just stopped in to say hi and it was a really nice mini ice-breaker. We started at 8 and some made it until closing time, which is still 4am in NY. I think we all realized why we don't hang at college bars anymore!
Friday night 7/4, we gathered at the Brass Rail. There were about 30-40 people there over the course of the night. This was a nice quiet evening where some of us really got to catch up. It was just RCK grads, sharing stories and having drinks, and laughing our butts off! Some people came to this that couldn't attend Saturday, so we took a bunch of pictures of them and they were definitely part of the reunion. It was also a good time for a joke or two. Maybe that will teach someone to stop being so cranky!
Saturday morning we gathered at Bowdoin Park, I say we had a nice group of 30 or so through out the time we were there. The kids enjoyed the playground and turtle sprinklers, we got to go through the yearbook a little and catch up with other classmates not attending the main event. Some even changed their minds minds and ended up coming Saturday night! And we were glad to have them!!! The weather held up so it was an enjoyable morning. Thanks Melissa for getting our spot! By now I was running on empty!!
So now it was back to the hotel to get ready and set up. The room looked great with white table cloths and red and blue napkins, I finished the tables off with some glowing centerpieces. How cool are those ice cubes!! Thanks Jen for blowing up our class picture, that was a huge hit, not to mention hysterical! Thank God for the ability to crop, and a keen eye...kind of...Everyone starting coming in right on schedule, sort of, you know who you are "regular outfit" girl! We got our nametags, (which totally helped!)enjoyed the cocktail hour and then filtered into the ballroom for dinner. Thanks for listening to my "speech". Did you see me shaking??? Steve won the raffle, he got his $80 back and Scott got a huge Happy Birthday! We toasted to our friends that have passed, and had a special song dedication. We ate and continued to drink, some more than others...after awhile the open bar did start to work and the serious dancing began! (and the falling, but we won't name names here) I myself busted out the Wop and Jack came right back at me with the Running Man.. I almost peed! Engine, engine number 9, on the New York Transit line...Thanks for that one Nicky, it was a classic from a Saturday night at Bertie's!
By 10pm or so the crashers started arriving! And thanks for "crashing" cause it was great to see you! It had been 10 or 20 years since I had seen some of them, so it was awesome to catch up with them. I had some of the best conversations and biggest laughs sitting on that bench! If you crashed and you ever see me out, or maybe even invite me out, you owe me a cocktail!
We kicked it until midnight in the ballroom and carried it over to the Brass Rail until 3am! The last of us went to our rooms at 4am.
9:30 Sunday morning some of us dragged ourselves to breakfast, which was a really nice time to talk and say goodbye for now. I will definitely post a date, time and place over the summer to meet. Anyone around is more than welcome. I will try to email that info when we decide on something.
I would really like to thank some of you for being such amazing friends. You really supported me and got me through the rough spots, gave me great suggestions and most of all made me laugh, and I couldn't have done it without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Kris, Meredith, Jackie, Jen, Mike, Robert, Delia, Melissa, Suzanne and Sandy.
There will be a 25th Reunion Summer 2013, so stay tuned to this site! Thank you to all that made RCK Class of '88's 20th Reunion Weekend a truly amazing, unforgettable blast! I had the time of my life, reconnecting with old friends and making incredible new friendships!
