Kristin Star Picun
I'm Kristin Star...Most people who were in Kittatinny, at the same time as me, knew who I was...But, not many knew me very well.
I was Jr. Class President, involved in a ton of school clubs & activities, and got the "Done Most for the School" superlative, in the yearbook, Senior Year. (I thrived with such a busy schedule...But, there's a lot more to me, than how involved I was, in things, in High School).
Although I'm quite intelligent, I chose not to go to college, except for, taking a few classes, of interest, at the community college. It wasn't the best experience, but, I did enjoy performing, in the acting classes that I took, recently.
Since High School, I have been working on pursuing a singing career (as many people knew that I had been planning to do).
I continued to perform in local talent shows, for a few years, after High School, until I no longer felt that it was enriching, for me. I got to perform, at the Apollo Theater, in NYC, in their un-televised "Showtime" competition, in the fall of 2004....And, though, it wasn't all that I'd hoped it could be, it did help me to over-come the stage-fright that I'd had to deal with, for years.
Since then, I have been working on music/my pursuit of a career in music, in a variety of ways...I have been perfecting my song-writing, and got a couple of songs copyrighted...I have been teaching myself to play the keyboard, and will, soon, be teaching myself to play the guitar...and, I recently, took a recording class, to familiarize myself with the equipment.
I am, currently, gathering suitable material, to put together, for my first album, and seeking Straightedge, Vegan musicians to work with (as a band, or for accompaniment).
I hope to have an album out, within the next year-and-a-half. It will take a lot of work, but I think that it's quite possible.
Veganism, and Animal Rights are Immensely Important to me, and I am, always, looking to get involved with organizations that help animals. I hope to start my own shelter, sometime in the near future, and I, constantly, help animals, in any ways that I can!!! :-)
Being drug-free is, also, immensely important to me!...I stayed involved with the Teen Institute (formerly, known as, *TIGS...currently, known as, LMTI), for years, after High School, until being ousted, due to personal conflicts with the new staff. I hope to be involved with it, again, someday, but, for the time being, am focusing on other aspects of my life.
I don't venture out, often...I like hanging out, at home, with my pets, Cody, and Milo...They rock!! :-)
I like to watch a lot of TV, and listen to a lot of music (a lot of times, dancing around my house, to it). In addition to my musical aspirations, I am looking to get into acting, and hope to get some minor roles on some Disney Channel shows, within the next 6-8 months.
I, also, quite like writing, and am very good at it. I enjoy writing episodes of "Cold Case", and hope to get them on TV, someday!!!
I haven't stayed in touch with anyone from High School...though, I have been in brief contact, with a few people, over the years. I'm kind of a lone dove...And, that's not too bad, most of the time.
Anyway, I hope to see a lot more people joining this site, so that I have a much easier time contacting people, than I did, when I was trying to put our 5.5-year reunion together.

Update: Since I last posted on here, there have been some exciting developments, in my world, in regards to some of my goals mentioned above, and such.
I, still, enjoy hanging out, at home, with my pets, and listening to music, and watching Harry Potter movies, and such.
But, recently, I have seriously delved into some endeavors, and am quite pleased with the progress that I've made.
In the beginning of June, I picked up work on a novel that I had started writing in 2007...I worked on it, everyday, for nearly two months, and finished it, last week! :-) I still have to edit, and finalize it, but the whole story is complete...And, when I am done with the mechanics of finishing work on it, I am going to get it printed, and sell it, online. I'm very excited about my accomplishment!!! :-)
Also, recently, I found some other drug-free Vegetarian/Vegan musicians, and have formed the starts of a band, with them. Right now, we are just one vocalist, and two guitarists...But, we've been working really well together, and continue to do so, while looking for some other instruments to round things out.
I'm going to be taking a few classes at the county college, again, in the fall (online Criminology, Sign Language, and Television Production), as well...So, hopefully, that will be interesting, enriching, and fun.
In addition to completing my novel, and forming, and working with a band, I continue to work on pursuing my other goals, and will continue to do so.
