Today's Featured Biography
Doug Bickers
After North Forsyth I spent 6 years at NCSU. I walked away with an Electrical Engineering degree, a job at Nortel Networks in Raleigh, and a wife. Geri and I were married just before my graduation in 1991. In 1994 we had our first daughter, Sara, followed by my son Daniel in 1996. In the summer of 2000 I got bored with Nortel and jealous of the dot-commers making all the money so I moved to Silicon Valley in California to work for a startup, Caspian Networks. Sure I made more money, but my landlord got most of it. We had a great time anyway, but moved back to Raleigh after a year. We visited Yosemite 5 times that year! What an awesome place! Anyway, after another year and a half with Caspian in Raleigh, they decided they didn't need me anymore. Several companies later and I'm now at Cisco in RTP. Hope to be there for a while. We're living in Wake Forest now and loving it (except for the commute.) My wife just got a horse for the family, which is great except I don't like horses. At least she and my daughter really enjoy it. We go to church at North Raleigh Church of Christ where my wife is the Children's minister. Between that, work, and my kid's homework, that pretty much consumes my time.
