Camellia Olesen Gunn (January 16, 1941 - June 12, 2011) was born in Reidsville, NC, the daughter of Peder Meldahl Olesen of Skive, Denmark and Eva Regina Adams of Salem, VA.

After finishing High Point College with a major in music and a minor in English, I taught English for six years at two private boarding schools, one in Virginia (Virginia Episcopal School in Lynchburg) and one in Florida (The Bolles School in Jacksonville), and then switched to librarianship but have served as a church organist and/or choir director throughout my career and continue to do so in retirement. I retired at the end of 2007 after over thirty years as the director of the library at Jacksonville University, Jacksonville, FL. Before moving to Florida for a second time, Camellia and I first lived in Reidsville and then in Boone, NC, where I was on the library faculty at Appalachian State as its music librarian and for a time also taught library science in its college of education after graduate studies at UNCG, Vanderbilt, and the University of Michigan.
We have two daughters who live in Georgia. Our "Dr. Laura" is part of the graduate faculty of the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health at Georgia Southern University where she teaches biostatistics, and our older daughter is a manager for Burger King. Both daughters are unmarried, but we have a granddog and a grandcat.
I retired to devote full-time care to Camellia, who had cancer and two colon surgeries in 2006 followed by chemotherapy with additional problems following that from the stress of the operations and the chemotherapy. She has difficulty with mobility, so we most likely will not be able to attend the 50th reunion.
Besides the full-time care that Camellia needs, I fill any remaining time with music activities, as I have been in my present position as organist for a great Presbyterian (USA) congregation for almost fifteen years. I am also a member of the Caswell County Historical Association, since both sides of my family, including me, are natives of Caswell County, so genealogy also takes up a bunch of my time, but it is very rewarding.
We live less than five miles from the Atlantic Ocean near the Mayport Naval Station and the Intracoastal Waterway. We are near the majestic St. Johns River and its tidal marshlands with all sorts of wildlife. It's a beautiful place, but without air conditioning, nobody in his or her right mind would live in Florida! We sometimes think of returning to NC, but things have changed there over the years, so it's not the same place we remember from our youth, but we also have changed.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
