Today's Featured Biography
Cleo Cox
Like a lot of our friends, my "career" really started with the Army in 1969, to include a 12 month visit to Viet Nam. Got out in 1972. Worked with Burlington Socks in Asheboro for 8 years, then 3 years with Randolph Farm Equipment in Asheboro. During that time,in 1972, I joined the Army National Guard for 1 year to "try" that out. Then in February 1981, I joined the Active Guard & Reserves Program; a new program for the Guard & Reserves. In May 1981, I married Debbie Branning from Asheboro, and really got serious about life. We have 2 sons, Jeff (Chief Meteorologist at Fox 24 News, Macon, GA, weekends at THE Weather Channel-Radio side), and Brian (rising Freshman at NC State). In September, 1996, I took my military retirement, and swore I would not work for the government again. Then in June 1997, I went to work for the Dept. of Veterans Affairs; 1st at the VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC, then with the Administrative Services, Mid-Atlantic CPAC, in Asheville, NC. I look after the Veterans that go to the Hampton, VA medical Center....Whew.
