In 1962 I occasionally thought of how old I would be (54) when the year 2000 arrived. Back then I thought that by the turn of the century, I would be a wife and mother, living in Minnesota. I don’t think I ever thought 50 years out to the future. I did become a wife and mother. I’m still tall and I’m still blond (I think.) But so much else is different than I would have imagined. After graduating from the University of Minnesota and working for Dayton’s for a couple of years, the Vietnam War and the US Navy sent my starter husband to Boston in 1971, and I was able to go with him. That’s how I became a New Englander, living in Massachusetts and later New Hampshire – although no “newcomer” ever really becomes a New Englander – for most of the last 41 years. During the ‘70s we had two sons, Andy & Nathaniel. Soon after, my marriage failed and, fearing becoming a “bag lady,” I enrolled in graduate school. In 1986, five days after earning an MBA from Simmons College in Boston, I remarried. As my husband, Mark, says, “We’ve been married 26 years, 15 of the best years of my life.” Mark is a serial entrepreneur, and together, with Mark at the helm and me as the chief financial officer, we have started three companies, the most recent in 1999. At least one of us would love to retire! Over the years I’ve raised a couple of great guys, run a calligraphy business, done silk screening, skied, played golf (poorly), traveled, and have been & continue to be an election official in my town. I’ve gone from being a Lutheran to an Episcopalian to an agnostic and from being a Republican to a Democrat. Who knew?! We live on a harbor island next to Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and share our lives with our sons who live nearby, and our mini poodle, Charley.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
