Jacob Johnson

I left high school in 1965, pissed over the split between Robbinsdale and Cooper - but I graduated.

I joined the Marines and fought in Viet Nam, I won the Purple Heart.

I came back to Minnesota and married Judith Johnson. I graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a BFA in film.

I was divorced from Judy in '75 and went to California where I graduated with a Master's degree from John F. Kennedy University in Orinda, CA in religious studies. I then graduated from the Berkeley Psychic Institute with a Doctor of Divinity degree. I married Carol Leach. Divorced her later for running off to Boston. She let me down. I still love Miles, her son though. I loved to hear him say J-Bob, for Jacob. I hope he is well.

I was an artist in the San Francisco Bay Area from 1975 to 1985. I then moved to Laytonville, California where I grew weed and enjoyed my VA full disability. I did really, I did exactly what I wanted and how I wanted. I was free again, Like I was on my great motorcycle trip. I lived my life, my way.

In 1998 I went to Baji, Mexico and hung out for the winter, I had a place on the coast with a young maid who tended to me. I planned on returning there forever after my weed crop was harvested in 1999. But I was in an automobile accident in December 30th and was thrown into jail. They released me, and I went to a faith healer for help for my injuries.

She saw that I was seriously ill and had me taken to an emergency room - I died on the way and was pronounced dead when I arrived.

Sounds awfully shitty huh? But it wasn't, I lived my life my way, always - except in the Marines. That was tough. When I died I was planning to hook up with my HS bud Daryl, we were to go to Baja together that winter. Sorry Daryl, you would have enjoyed Mexico as much as I did in '98. It would have been great fun. As good as before on the road with our motorcycles.

I found a guy who would take us fishing on his yacht all day if we bring a case of beer.

Yes, I am dead. I died on December 31st 1999. Couldn't make it into the next century, just like my boyhood friend Curt Hartwigsen - he died in 1999 as well, from liver cancer.

I died at 52, but I had a hell of a lot of living in those years. Went all over the US and the world. More then most folks can say. I loved California, went back to Minnesota but missed my home in California. That is where I am now, although a ghost. Dead at 52, but still haunting CA.
