After high school graduation, our family moved to Kalamazoo. I partied my way through the first two years At Western Michigan University (no surprise to most of you). Then Viet Nam got in the way. I spent four years in the Air Force, finding out what I didn't want to do in life. I returned to Western and graduated in 1972. I worked for Coopers & Lybrand CPA firm in South Bend, Indiana until 1976, then opened my own CPA practice in Hastings, Michigan. I retired in May 2002.
I have one boy and two girls (all are living in the San Francisco Bay Area), two step sons (one in Baton Rouge and one in West Palm Beach) and one grandson (also in the SF Bay Area).
My wife, Jean, and I spend summers in Hastings and winters in a golf course community near Sebring, Florida. I make my own beer (no surprise), make my own mead (fermented honey), play pickleball and have done several triathlons. My knees don't let me run much any more, but I continue to ride bike and swim whenever I can.
