Today's Featured Biography
Phyllis Phelps Day
I graduated from JCC in 1954, University of Michigan in 1956. Married Jerry Day in 1955 and stayed at home with the kids for a while. Then I went back to the University of Michigan for a Masters in Social Work, worked for a couple of years in Jackson at United Way and then at Crittenton Services, decided I needed more schooling and went back to University of Michigan for a doctorate. After that I taught at various colleges -- Western Michigan, Purdue for a long time, and then decided to try some new places -- Boise State University, Temple, Indiana University at Richmond, and a school in Iowa. Finally got fed up with academia and retired. I came back to West Lafayette, where Purdue is located, to be near some old friends and a couple of my kids. Merry and Jerry 2 live nearby. Nora is in Des Moines, IA, where she works in a firm that does OSHA stuff; Sean teaches in SC; and Joy is a successful artist in CA.
Mostly now I am working on a book revision and taking care of cats and dogs (still doing that). I enjoy working in the garden -- not that I'm good at it -- and I read a lot and visit with friends. This is probably more than anyone wanted to know. I don't get to Jackson except for class reunions, but I do enjoy hearing from old friends.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
