James Heit

A fifty year review, wow! I am probably not your typical gradute. I ran from Catholicism, and have pursured a life long spiritual quest, both inner and outer, outside of organized religion. My outer journey took me pretty much around the world through the years. Places such as England, Italy, Sicily, Greece, Medjugorje in Hercegovina, Crotia, Egypt and Israel three different times, Mexico, South America, Hawaii, and ? I/we usually traveled for four to six weeks at a time.

I have been married five times in this lifes journey, with no children. We all shared this same spiritual quest. A lot of love, laughs, and learning, was the result of these unions.

I have had my share of fast motorcycles, Corvettes, and wonderful dogs. Down to just a cat now.

I built my current home north of Fort Wayne in Holiday Lakes, and five years ago, a second home on remote Beaver Island, thirty two miles out in Lake Michigan.

Oh, I almost forgot, I made a liveing working at Slater Steels for thirty nine years plus.

I continue to look ahead to what ever is next, rarely looking in the rear view mirror. I am not done just yet; fifty years is just a milemarker.

I feel blessed and I am filled with gratitude for this opportunity called my life. I have no regrets for have taken this road less traveled; the road outside the box. As I said in my first sentence. "not your typical graduate"
