A positive thought about reunions

Today's Featured Biography
Janet Smith Porter
Don and I retired in 1994 after living in the northwest suburbs of Chicago for over 30 years. I enjoyed my 20 years at United Airlines World Headquarters. However, with all the changes in the airline industry, I was happy to take early retirement and keep all my benefits! Don was Math/Science Division Chairman and Coordinator for High School District 214 with a total of 35 years in education. Since we had a weekend home in Galena, Illinois, there was no question as to where we would build our retirement home.
On April 24, 2003, our lives would change as we faced a most difficult challenge. In a “freak” accident at home, Don suffered a cervical spine contusion causing severe nerve damage. Thankfully, there was no paralysis! He has amazed his doctors with his recovery. Don passed away in Sept 2018
In 2005, we decided it was time to “downsize” and simplify our lives. We sold our home to friends and moved to a new development in town. Travel is still an important part of our lives. We try to take one cruise a year, spend part of the winter in AZ and take shorter trips thru the year. We stay quite busy with many activities in the area including volunteer work and involvement in our church. Activities with our children and grandchildren have always been a priority!
Being a wife, mother and grandmother is definitely the most rewarding part of my life!
Look forward to seeing all of you in June!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
