Today's Featured Biography
Kelly Ware Whipple
Hi from beautiful NW Montana!
My husband, Whip, and I are so fortunate to be raising our two boys Zack and Dane, and my daughter, Althea, from our home office just a block from the cleanest, largest lake in North America- the Flathead. Life is good here in our little town of Polson. Yes, its even smaller than Blackfoot and its on a res. This valley is magical though and I have an amazing community of friends.
This year marks 20 yrs. of doing massage therapy. My husband is a Chiropractor and together we have the "Aware Wellness Center". He is an old Yale/football boy and x Hollywood moviemaking, hunter-flyfisherman. I went to college in UC Santa Cruz, Calif., Universidad Catolica de Chile, and University of Utah. I started in Marine Biology, changed to Art and Journalism, then to Spanish Literature/Lang.
I decided that I would follow the Great Grandmother Earth's promptings and "get on with the Circle of Life", so I had Althea at 25 with Alex Hogle of Salt Lake area. I lived off the electric grid (in a loin cloth at times!) and homesteaded. I was all into homebirth- still am, and health foods-still am, and straw bale house building in Moab, Utah. I divorced and moved back to Park City, and did massage full time as a single mom. I had another quick marriage-a rebound, silly thing (The 10 year reunion fellow...)
In 2000 I met Whip when visiting my mom up here as we did each summer. I had always wanted to live in this valley. Aside from missing some culture and good restaurants, and putting up with dreary winters, I have loved being here the past 6 years. I am such a homebody with my garden and home much like our house in Blackfoot. Yes I take after mom with the best garden in town. I am really in to Permaculture- permanent sustainable agriculture and culture- the wave of the future in design of villages-- I also want to create a center for cleansing and rejuvenation- my husband and I dabble in the Raw Food Cuisine. I like the Garden of Eating- flowers are nice too!
I taught yoga for years prior to having two boys, and am working on a book about infant potty training. Later will come the memoirs of my life's adventures... I wake up each day so thankful to be alive.
The family is all well. Mom and Lee are in a GREAT place an hour nfborth of me on a little lake near Bigfork. Laurie and her husband Chuck and two kids Amelia,21 months and Bodie, 3 months, live on and caretake a family retreat on the Swan River. My Dad and Brother Todd and Aunt Lorraine live here too on beautiful properties with awesome views of mountains and lake. We are Blessed. Lynn and her kids still live in Park City. We aer trying to see if Laurie can make it to the reununion. Mom sends her love to you all and loves to hear stories.
I'm looking forward to the "Ice Breaker" in IF, hope to stay up late and share good space! Also who has a good baby sitter for Sat night? I hope you all can come (You too Penny and Scott!) I am so excited to "bond"! Love, Kelly

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
