We have had to scale back some, but will proceed with the reunion! We will now be in the Julien River Boat Lounge, 6:00pm. The plan currently is appetizers and 2 drink tickets per person, unless more people register. Please be sure you have paid via pay pal or made arrangements with me. See you next week! |

Shelly Cross
I suppoose I should say something on this space since people seem to be finding me this way...ok so I have not been exactly "reaching out" to friends from my past, but I have good reasons and those I do reach out to know that I am not exactly be best at "keeping in touch" on a regular basis but figure I am worth the wait. And for that I am extremely grateful.
Let's see, I hate this "about me" shit so I will keep this as simple as possible:
I'm getting older and it sucks, in my head I'm 30 and in reality I'm 37.
My children walk on all fours and are furry and that's the way I like it...though lately my mind may be changing on that front.
I am back in the midwest after 15 years not being here: close to the family again,not sure how I feel about that. Hate the mentality of this part of the world, those who have escaped don't need me to explain.
I'm a lot tougher that I was "back when you knew me" for all of the folks who are looking for me. I'm tend to work to much, play to little, I love to swear, and take care of me and my own first. I'm not a bitch, I just have lines drawn on who I am going to allow into my life.
I hang out with old folks for a living and am a community director of a large assisted living community. Love my job, was put on the planet to do this work and would not choose a different path.
I busted my ass to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Trinity College in DC with a degree in Psychology, and yes that is my bragging right. I'm a smart cookie for those of you who didn't know it.
Oh, and the whole religion thing drives me crazy....I'm more "yeah Budha" than I am yeah anything else. Believe in KARMA and God, but not all the dogma shit religion demands of people. Things happen for a reason and when they happen to me I am usually glad in the end.
And finally, I am an artist and writer in my soul, so consider this fair warning, everyone is subject to end up in my novel someday...
