Today's Featured Biography
Kerri Connally Pugh
After graduating from High School, I attended Lee University and Kennesaw State University. During college, I attended the Miss Georgia pageant 3 times. Once as Miss Dalton, once on tour as a Miss Georgia Superstar, and the last time as a Miss Georgia Dancer. All of which helped me pay for college.
I met my husband, Rodney, my senior year at Kennesaw. My mom set us up on a blind date, and 2 months later, we were looking at rings!! (Of course, mom brags that I should have listened to her all along!!) We married 1 1/2 later.
I taught 1st grade in Clayton county for 2 years and then we moved to Cleveland. I taught 5th grade there until I had my daughter Kayley. 22 months later I had my son Rylan. (Not planned- it was almost like having twins!) Rylan had lung problems at birth and we almost lost him. He was in the hospital most of his first 8 months with RSV and pneumonia. At 10 months, he was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, caused from lack of oxygen at birth. We were devastated!! We began physical and speech therapy, and A LOT of praying! We were told he would never walk or talk, and if he did, he would be handicapped. We knew God had another plan and that HE was a God of healing! Today, Rylan is playing basketball, baseball, and in the gifted program is school! A totally normal boy! He is our miracle!!
Kayley plays basketball, writes poetry, and reads all the time! My family means the world to me!
Today, I teach 3rd grade at a multi-cultural, inner city school. Everyday is a challenge!!!
My family loves the DAWGS, snorkeling, music and dancing, swimming and basketball!
We are involved in the media department at our church -on stage cameras, production, and directing. It is a very contemporary church and is soo much fun to attend! Check out youtube and The Torch to see some of our services.
Occasionally, I host a TV show called "Close to Home" that is played on cable here in Northeast Georgia.
I can't wait to see everybody and hear how you all are doing!!
