Today's Featured Biography
Bill Pace
Hello old friends: Below is a short profile my office uses for me - with first a short couple of paragraphs of introduction.
After East I went to the University of Denver, went back to help Colwell at East in the Fall of 1968, was teaching there beginning in the Spring. With a few years living and moving around in LA, Hawaii, S.F., NYC, - I taught and worked in Denver most of the years from 1968 to 1987 - when i took a two year job with Amnesty International - and realized i could do much more and better working at the international community level.
[lost some paragraphs - will now try to re-create] I could not support the war in Vietnam which is why I did not get a contract from DPS I am told - but i stayed in Denver and worked to on historic preservation and environment and peace and human rights issues. Worked for a renewable energy company named Bio-Gas of Colo, help found and run the Capitol Hill Community Center, worked with the Peoples Fairs, the alternative education project that John Hand ran so well, and campaigned for peace candidates in 68,72,76 and 80, organised concerts in Denver for good causes, e.g. with my DU classmate Chris Williamson. I definitely did too much experimentation and free living, thats how i ended up with Amnesty in London and met my Dutch wife and turned a two year detour into a 25 year new career.
my wife and I leave in Hardwick, NJ in an old 1810 farm house - we have an apartment on the Hudson River across from Manhattan where i commute to work at our offices near the United Nations.
