Hello Everyone

I can't believe how fast time flies by. It's been ten years since I graduated high school and so much has changed, but at the same time, a lot still feels the same. The mix of emotions I get when I reminisce about my younger years usually brings tears to my eyes. Ten years ago I was this shy, slightly awkward teen, trying to find his way in the world. I was often times in my own little world, indulging in my daydreams, and wondering if any of my many wishes would come true. I was young, wide-eyed, and always hopeful that things would turn out right for me. If things didn't work out, tomorrow would better day, I always told myself. In searching for myself during those times of eternal youth, important life lessons were being taught, which only could be appreciated years after they happened. Some of the stuff I learned were how times changes things--for good or for bad, the importance of holding my own in a world full of conformity, how determination and persistence has its payoff eventually, and the importance of having the courage to take calculated risks in the face of fear.

Here I am ten years later still learning from those lifelong lessons. After all these years, I'm still trying to find myself but am very excited about the progress made along the way. It's been quite a journey. When I was younger I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life. I just imagined myself being rich somehow and having the freedom to do whatever I wanted. I ended up majoring in finance. I learned a lot about the industry and after working a few years in a corporate 9-5 job, my heart longed for something different.

It was then I decided to become an actor. It seemed like something fun and different. I began this new chapter of my life about three years ago and have had limited success. I had free time after work to take acting classes, do some theatre, and to learn about the "industry", all while living in and working in San Diego. There eventually came a point when I decided to move to LA to pursue better opportunities. However, the move never came because I wasn't ready to leave yet. I had to do a little more self-exploration in San Diego--the place I call home. Slowly but surely, things became clearer to me as to what to do with my life. I've had little revelations here and there, and now I feel I'd like to pursue writing and/or filmmaking. There are too many great stories out there yearning to be heard, so I figured, why not tell them. Plus, I'll be taking active control of my life, as opposed to waiting for opportunities to come to me. I feel like I'm headed for greatness, and as I look back to my teenage years--those trying times as a kid who was always nice and pleasant, but shy and overlooked, yet always optimistic that better times would come--I smile today as I am still that hopeful young man. As I step into this new chapter in my life, I leave you with this quote:

Courage is not the absence of fear,
but rather the judgment that something
else is more important than fear. The
brave will not live forever, but the
cautious will not live at all.
