Today's Featured Biography
Jeffrey Stuart Stuart
After graduating, I stayed in school for a while, earning a few degrees. Subsequently, I have taught at various colleges and universities scattered around the United States. Primarily, I have taught mathematics and statistics, and for a while, finance. Along the way I was tenured twice and promoted to full professor twice. I have authored about fifty research publications, most of which have been rarely read. I remain an active learner, having acquired passible knowledge of a few foreign languages, and having earned a few professional certifications.
I have traveled fairly extensively in the USA and in Europe, by foot, bike, taxi, car, bus, train, boat, and plane. In addition to teaching, I have worked as a cook, landscaper, and financial consultant. I have raised fish, cats, dogs and a niece.
My old life ends cataclysmically later this spring when I will formally retire. Perhaps I will focus again on classic music, become a peripatetic vagabond, or bond via implants to my computer - trying to read new web content faster than it is created. I suspect that my wife of 23 years, Susan, will have a significant say in how I choose.
We - Susan and I, and the cats that supervise us - live an hour from Mount Rainier and an "hour" from Seattle. We have the best of both worlds - hiking, nature, cultures, great dining, and rain (lately lots of rain).
