Blessed with a sumptuous voice of magnificent proportions, soprano RACHEL
ROSALES is capable of delivering the fiery intensity of Verdi’s most demanding works or
spinning out the delicate filigree of Handel’s intricate embellishments and has achieved both popular and critical acclaim on international stages in opera, oratorio and solo recitals. She enjoyed a busy summer at music festivals around the world, participating in the Verbier (Switzerland) Music Festival, Goldenthals’ Grendel at the Lincoln Center Summer Festival and programs devoted to the music of Franz Lizst for the Bard Music Festival. This season she is heard with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s in “Mozart’s Women”, in Honegger’s Le Roi David with the Oratorio Society of New York at Carnegie Hall, returns to Sacred Music in a Sacred Space for Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 2 and

with the Friends of Mozart Society and the New York Première of Songs of Eternity composed by Bezhad Ranjbaran (also in the Sacred Music in a Sacred Space series).
She has appeared with New York City Opera, Berkshire Opera, Opera Illinois, Arizona Opera, Cincinnati Opera, Eugene Opera, Opera New Orleans, Canadian Opera, Calgary Opera, Berkshire Choral Festival, Berkshire Bach Chorale, Fairfield County Chorale, The American Virtuosi/Baroque Opera Theatre, Long Island Philharmonic, Phoenix Symphony, Tucson Symphony, Bard Festival Orchestra, American Symphony Orchestra, New York Collegium, Four Nations Baroque Ensemble, Connecticut Early Music Festival, National Symphony Orchestra and Bronx Arts Ensemble. Other orchestral engagements include The Little Orchestra Society of New York, the New York Choral Society, the Symphony of the United Nations, the Bach Choir of Bethlehem (including performances on their tour of Germany), the Carmel Bach Festival and the Bach Choir of Vancouver. She has concertized on tours of France, Mexico and the Philippines and given solo recitals in New York City as well as across the country.
Upon completion of her undergraduate studies at Arizona State University, she joined the Merola Program at San Francisco Opera and later earned her Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School. She was a National Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and took First Place in
competitions sponsored by the San Francisco Opera Center, the Music Teachers National Association and the National Association of the Teachers of Singing. In 1989 she was given the Young Alumni Achievement Award
by her alma mater, Arizona State University. Recordings include North/South Consonance and The Music of John Anthony Lennon for Composers Recordings; The Music of Samuel Zyman for Warner Brothers; Ritmo Jondo
