After Butler, I aimlessly attended UAH for a couple of years. When it became apparent that I wasn't going anywhere doing the college thing, I started exploring other options. The Navy had been calling for a while, so I started there. I joined the Navy's Delayed Entry Program in 1991 and started boot camp in April 1992. After boot camp and my "A" school in Orlando, FL, I married Suzanne (a GHS '89 graduate) in December 1992. We went back to Florida for six months and then to upstate New York until the end of 1993. I went on to the USS George Washington for 3.5 years starting at the beginning of 1994. I had plenty of fun there but didn't feel that ship life was totally friendly to our marriage. My last several years in the Navy were spent teaching people in upstate New York. I got out of the Navy in July 2001 and we moved to Moline, IL. I worked for Exelon Corporation until December 2005. I came back to Bama in January of '06 to work for TVA at Brown's Ferry. The wife unit (1 ea.) came down several months later after selling our house in Silvis, IL. We're in Athens now and kicking ass and taking names.....
