Wasn't sure about even registering as being located, but found myself checking out all the bio posted and thought, what the heck. So here goes...
Found true happiness soon after graduation. Yep, lost my virginity! (Though it was another couple of weeks before experiencing my first orgasm, but that's another story...)
Attended UBC (a few fellow classmates were in the same program), fortunately during a time when passing wasn't so difficult, and got my degree in computer science.
In 1980, convinced that house prices will rise forever, as would interest rates, bought a house and locked into a long-term mortgage at obscene APR. Again convinced of my abilities to make it big on my own, quit a well paying job in '83 to become a consultant. The result was several lean years where I didn't pay any income taxes. (Take that, Revenue Canada...)
During the '80s and early '90s, in my vain attempt to be cool and sophisticated, I 1) started golfing, 2) got season tickets to the VSO, 3) learned to race sail boats, 4) bought a used Porsche, 5) wrecked the Porsche, 6) learned to drive a race car, 7) got involved in racing Porsches. Then realized it's too damned expensive being cool and sophisticated!
Other notable errors in judgement: 1) tried to earn my tuitions playing penny stocks on the then VSE while at UBC, 2) after losing more than I can afford, stayed out of the market during the two biggest bull runs of the last century: 1983-1990 and 1994-1999, 3) kept my 70's bell bottom pants and platform boots for years and trashed them just before they were back in style...
And finally, married my wife and fulfilled my life long dream... (ooooh, such a romantic and sensitive type...) of becoming a "GIGOLO". HaHaHa... like the song says (can't remember it's name): "life's been good so farrrr..."
