After graduation and 1 year at ENMU, I moved to Lubbock where I met my husband, Tom Hargrave. Our only daughter Brandi was born in 1973 in Lubbock and in 1975, we moved to Cleburne, TX where we still reside. In 2001, Tom retired from the Cleburne Police Department and I retired as a Human Resource Director from the MHMR Community Center. We spent 3 wonderful years traveling - then Tom was involved in a life-threatening motorcycle accident that gave us both a new perspective on the importance of day-to-day living. He is a walking miracle and I thank God every day that he is still with me. After recovering from the accident, we both elected to return to the workforce (my mother kept telling us we were too young to not have jobs and it just wasn't right for us to be retired since we were not in our 60's.) So, we both went back to work. Tom is now a Training Supervisor for the Johnson County Sheriff's Office and I work part-time at the credit union as a Collection Officer -the other part of my job is to shuttle our only granddaughter, Keylin (2001) to and from school and after-school activities - which is quite rewarding. Tom and I are still avid motorcyclists and this summer we plan to pick up the last 2 states (Washington & Oregon) of the lower 48 states on a 2 week motorcycle vacation in May/June. Who knows... we might just end up in San Jon on our way home.
